Afewdaysago,ChinaCustomsdisclosed"inadvance"thetradedatathatshouldhavebeenreleasedonJuly13.ThepublisheddatashowedthatthegrowthrateofChina'sexportofgoodstotheUnitedStateshasfallensharply.OntheeveningofJuly2,theGeneralAdministrationofCustomsreleasedinformationthataccordingtopreliminarystatistics,mycountry’sexportstotheUnitedStatesincreasedby5.4%inthefirsthalfofthisyear,adecreaseof13.9percentagepointscomparedwiththesameperiodlastyear.Amongthem,exportstotheUSincreasedby3.8%inJune,andthegrowthratedroppedby23.8percentagepoints.Specifically,Inthefirsthalfoftheyear,mycountry'sexportsofelectromechanicalproductstotheUnitedStatesincreasedby8%year-on-year,accountingfor62.6%ofmycountry'stotalexportstotheUnitedStatesduringthesameperiod.Amongthem,automaticdataprocessingequipmentandcomponentsincreasedby3.6%year-on-year,andmobilephonesincreasedby5.5%.Inthesameperiod,thetotalexportvalueof7categoriesoftraditionallabor-intensiveproductswasbasicallythesameasthesameperiodlastyear;amongthem,clothingandclothingaccessoriesfell1.8%year-on-year,andfurnitureandpartsincreased2.5%.InJune,mycountry’sexportsofmechanicalandelectricalproductstotheUnitedStatesincreasedby4%year-on-year;amongthem,automaticdataprocessingequipmentanditscomponentsfellby6.6%year-on-year,andmobilephonesfellby7.1%.Duringthesameperiod,theexportoftraditionallabor-intensiveproductsincreasedby3.5%year-on-year,andtheexportofagriculturalproductsfellby0.9%.Onamonth-on-monthbasis,thegrowthrateofChina'sexportstotheUnitedStateshasdeclinedmonthbymonth.InRMBterms,thegrowthrateincreasedby20%year-on-yearinJanuary-February,8.1%year-on-yearinJanuary-March,6.5%year-on-yearinJanuary-April,and5.8%year-on-yeargrowthinexportstotheUnitedStatesfromJanuarytoMay.Lastmonth,inU.S.dollars,China’stradesurpluswiththeUnitedStatesexpandedto24.582billionU.S.dollarsinMay,anincreaseof10.96%fromthepreviousmonth;however,theoveralltradesurplusnarrowedto24.92billionU.S.dollars,adecreaseof12.2%fromthepreviousmonth.Itisexpectedthatthenarrowingofthetradesurplusinthefuturemaybecomethenorm,buttheglobaltradepatternmaychange.Undercertaindemandconditions,expandingimportstotheUnitedStatesmeansreducingimportstoothercountries,andnetexportsmaynotcontributeasmuchtoGDP.2017.However,accordingtothelatestdatareleasedbytheBureauofStatistics,China'soverallimportandexportprosperityfellbackinJune.Thenewexportorderindexwas49.8%,adecreaseof1.4percentagepointsfromthepreviousmonth.Theimportindexwas50.0%,0.9percentagepointslowerthanlastmonth,andtheoverallimportandexportofmanufacturingindustriessloweddown.
